Pluto

A true and humorous story from today...

We attended one of Daddy's school's events this evening which was very neat: an evening with an astronomy group that presented to the students. There were some jeopardy-style trivia games about planets, stars and solar systems. There were multiple GPS-operated telescopes to view the Arizona skies. The kids saw the rings of Saturn, the colors of Mars, and the bright glow of Venus.

The best part was during the presentation when the astronomer asked if anyone knew whether Pluto was still considered a planet or not. Breaking the silence, our little Jacob said quite loudly and distinctly,

"I know! Pluto is Mickey Mouse's dog!!"

Sick Day

We had an episode of strep, so the boys stayed home yesterday. Who knew that a trip to the library in the afternoon could yield this interesting photo:

Yes, the boys were captivated by the beautiful peacock running around the lawn outside the library! Thankfully, everyone is also feeling better. Especially after the six Curious George books we picked up at the library.

Spring Training 2010

We had a blast at the Spring Training night game on St. Patrick's Day this past Wednesday! The Mariner's didn't win, but we did see Griffey which was very exciting. Well, that and the fact that it was $2 hot dog night.

Flag Football!

One of the many joys of having two little boys is the fun I am having watching them explore the world of sports. The newest activity we've added to the list is flag football. Jacob has practice every Tuesday evening from now until early May; and games are on Friday evenings which has Jon and Uncle Kyle giddy with visions of "Friday Night Lights."

Here's a few photos of our little All-American...
Set... Hut, Hut!
